Bank of Washington, now NCNB, is located on 216 West Main Street It
is the only building in Waterman's Early Architecture of N.C. News
and Observer, May 23, 1854, with listed dimensions of 25 feet by 50
feet deep and of proportionate height. The front portico extends so
as to form a portico that is supported by four columns. Its walls
are made of brick stucco that resembles stone with a fire proof
roof. Bank of Washington is included in the National Register of
Historic Places. |
