Ashley G. Leggett established this dry cleaning business in 1931. It
was a rapidly growing business, employing nine people and two
service trucks. The plant grew in size and in equipment into one of
the largest in the area. Dyeing, altering, cleaning and tailoring
complete the service offered by Leggett. Service was extended
throughout Beaufort. This photo image was taken from the Special
Rotogravure Section featuring the First City to Bear the Name of
Washington in the Washington Daily News. |
