The Moore Manufacturing Company, was Washington's largest employer
of female labor and was owned and managed by Fred H. Moore. This
industry, the only one of its kind in the city of Washington, was
established in 1925. "Washington's Pride," the trade name, under
which the product reached the market, was sold throughout the entire
United States. Fifty power machines employed the services of sixty
people each day who produced 100 dozen work shirts that included
twenty-five styles, including boys' shirts. the sales agent was H.
