Pictured here is the municipal building. Today, this building is presently known as the DeMille Building and the former Old City Hall. According to an article in the Washington Daily News, October 15, 1889, the building was built in 1884. It was the second building to serve as town hall, given that the first town hall was destroyed in 1864 by Federal troops. Notice the exuberant Italianate style of the building.
