Washington was justly proud of being the home of one of Eastern
Carolina's largest and most complete automobile supply and accessory
outlets. The Paul Auto Supply Company with a branch store in
Greenville, North Carolina, sold exclusively to the wholesale trade
and was established in 1922, by O. T. and H. J. Paul. Henry B.
Rumley was manager of the Greenville branch. The local store was
located on Respass Street and stocked supplies for all makes of cars
and trucks. This business represented an investment of approximately
$100,000. All standard replacement parts and garage equipment were
sold. The products of the National Carbon Company, Hyvis Oil and
lubricants, Globe batteries, the Ramco Piston Rings and Victor
gasket lines were stocked and sold. The accompanying photographs
will give some idea of the substantial qualities and completeness of
those stores. Pictured is a photo of the interior of Paul Auto
Supply Company, Inc., in Greenville North Carolina. |
