Pictured here is a photo of Washington's municipally
owned power plant. The plant by no means was the largest, but was
one of the most modern. It served Washington Park, Wanoca, and one
hundred miles of rural lines, including the towns of Grimesland,
Vanceboro, Aurora, Chocowinity, Bath and Bayview. This plant will be
enlarged by Washington in the near future in order to reach more
rural homes and serve other communities further removed.
