Waters-Stier Wood Products Company was an outgrowth of the M. G.
Waters Lumber Company and was established in October, 1932. It was
both wholesale and retail as well as a manufacturing plant. A total
of 75 men were employed there. They handled all classes of lumber
that entered into the business of building, also shelf hardware,
brick and cement, and all kinds of mill work. The plant, storage and
stacking space covered six acres. Three trucks were used for
delivery purposes. The capacity was 600,000 feet monthly. They also
shipped to the eastern markets as well as local North Carolina
outlets. M. G. Waters and A. H. Stier were the owners. This photo
