Beebe Memorial C.M.E. Church

Beebe Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, originally known as Christian Temple C.M.E. Church, was the first African American church erected in North Carolina. Beebe Memorial, better known as the Hill church, stands as a prominent structure on the corner of Respess and Fifth streets.
