The Fowle Warehouse which was home base for ships traveling from Washington, North Carolina to the West Indies, South America, New York and Boston is located at 112 South Respess Street in Washington, North Carolina and stands as the only surviving monument to Beaufort County's most successful trade operation of the 19th century. The warehouse is a link to times before the automobile and modern technology and is a reminder of one of the former roles of the Pamlico.
